Snow Guards and Snow Rails for Metal Roofing

Metal Roof Snow Guards Installed On Roof

Snow retention options for metal roofing include individual snow guards that are spaced and often staggered across the roof to snow rails – continuous barriers. We offer both stainless steel and polycarbonate snow guards as well as ColorGard® snow rails and snow rail trims.

4500 Series stainless steel snow guards come in over 40 durable powder coat finishes or are available in a mill finish stainless. These 16 gauge snow guards feature an EPDM sealer on the bottom, eliminating the need for sealant.

Snow Rails

ColorGard Snow Rail

ColorGard Snow Rails offer a continuous barrier against snow. Made from aircraft grade aluminum and stainless steel components, these 8′ long snow rails mount using S-5 Clamps (for standing seam) or S-5 Brackets (for through fastened panels), allowing installation on most panels. The front of these rails allows you to insert a metal strip (typically customer provided) to accurately match your roof finish.

Snow Rail Trim

Snow Rail Trim are trim components (typically 10′ long). Unlike an engineered solution like ColorGard, these systems are not engineered. For that reason, exact snow loads and recommendations are unavailable. Mounted to the top of panel ribs (typically through fastener panels) snow rail trims should be fastened with extra-long screws.
